Many things were photographed during the Sichuan earthquake in China on May 12th. Images of destruction and suffering have swarmed the news, and something that has just recently surfaced are images of a Western-Style wedding in the town of Pengzhou. All images have been sourced from the New York Times website.
McKatie’s husband, Bobby Banuelos will be performing at the MBar May 29th. I’ve seen him before and he’s well worth the cover and the likely-overpriced drinks. Come check it out.
Sarah Ferguson, who I thanked earlier in the post The big ‘Thank You’, was in LA months ago… March I think. Anyhow she’s the one who pushed me to start this blog and pestered me constantly until it was up. Turn about is fair play I guess and it took her a similarly obscene amount of time to get this photo in my hands.

I don’t know that its the most flattering photo of any of us, but whatever. Seeing as though our moms have known each other for nearly 40 years, I’m sure they’ll get a kick out of the pic, regardless of how goofy we all look :-p
I’ve been bitching for years about the lack of point ‘n shoot cameras with RAW capture features. After all, it’s a software-based feature that really doesn’t “cost” anything. Anyhow, up until now your options for small cameras with RAW have been very limited to to a handful of expensive bulky models.
Well, no more thanks to Canons HDK (Hacker Development Kit). This snazzy little firmware upgrade includes RAW, a live color histogram, time-lapse and even games. (for more info check out their Wiki)
If you’re using a consumer grade point-and-shoot Canon digital camera, you’ve got hardware in hand that can support advanced features way beyond what shipped in the box. With the help of a free, open source project called CHDK, you can get features like RAW shooting mode, live RGB histograms, motion-detection, time-lapse, and even games on your existing camera. Let’s transform your point-and-shoot into a super camera just by adding a little special sauce to its firmware.
Snazzy stuff no doubt. I’ve been putting off the purchase of a new PnS for this very reason and I might finally have an excuse to pull the trigger
